HobbyPlus Unleashes the CR-18P 1/18 Terranaut 8×8 with Active All-Wheel Steering
HobbyPlus is proud to introduce the CR-18P 1/18 Terranaut 8×8—a fully capable remote-controlled recovery/hauling vehicle that redefines off-road functionality. The Terranaut delivers authentic scale detail, unmatched maneuverability, and real-world recovery and towing capability. Built on the globally respected CR-18P platform, the Terranaut 8×8 conquers serious terrain straight out of the box.
Advanced Features for Tactical Precision
The Terranaut 8×8’s revolutionary Active All-Wheel Steering (Active-AWS) lets the four front and four rear wheels be controlled independently via a 6-channel FlySky transmitter. With a standard steering wheel and a thumb-operated pivot lever, you can command tight U-turns, perform crab-walk maneuvers, or isolate front or rear steering at will—all fully proportional.
A remote-operated 2-speed transmission provides precision for the job at hand. For pinpoint recoveries, technical obstacles, steep ascents/descents, and heavy hauls, the ultra-low 124:1 first gear delivers the control and feel you need for complete confidence in high-consequence terrain.
While first gear is the heart of the Terranaut, second gear (31:1) adds ample speed to get you where you’re going faster—just right for fun trail runs between the technical sections.
Integrated remote-controlled LED lighting and a fully operational recovery winch add realism and functionality, making this more than just an RC—it’s a mission-ready vehicle.

Why the TERRANAUT 8×8 Is the Ultimate RC Utility Rig
Whether you’re crawling, towing, hauling, or recovering, the TERRANAUT 8×8 delivers unmatched flexibility with its 8-wheel active steering and 8-wheel-drive configuration. Steering options—front-only, rear-only, or crab walk—make tight terrain easier than ever. Climbing and descending are a breeze thanks to the torque-rich 124:1 first-gear ratio, the big-block 280-size brushed motor, and high-clearance portal axles.
And it’s not just capable—it’s fun. The Terranaut 8×8’s striking scale presence turns heads at the park, on the trail, or even from afar. It’s truly one-of-a-kind in the RC market.
Special Notes:- The included pinion gear is helical design and is required to install on the motor shaft.- The V3 Rushmore and THunter will have a lower ratio with these gears. If you want to maintain the same gear ratio, you will need to...
Ther CR18P Terranaut is absolutely awesome! The low crawl control is great and 2nd gear is fast enough to have some fun with it. The 8 wheel steer makes it very manuverable and does surprisingly well on my backyard 1/18 scale crawler course. This thing was making it through lines that my 4 wheel steer trx4m struggles with. The scale details are also fantastic, if you're thinking about gettting one, just do it, you'll be glad you did!

The HobbyPlus Terranaut 8x8 Is INSANE! Rock Crawling and Heavy Hauling!
We have been running this rig for over 3 weeks now and this rig is truly legendary! At CrawlerTrax we are suckers for a well put together 6x6 and this takes that to the next level! This is a rig that will definitely be on our “go to” list. Not only does it look amazing but it performs just as well as it looks and did we mention that I can haul a trailer? Check out our review of the Terranaut below!

What a Beast!
This is a good truck out the box. It’s very capable for its size. Reminds me of their Arktos 6x6 in a way. It’s also very detailed. But, I have to do my tweaking to make it mine. Lol
