Product details:
The Salomon Shift Pro 130 touring boot's four buckles, tall cuff, and full TPU construction let you know that this boot means business. The S/Lab MTN was the former premium free touring boot for Salomon and gained a strong following during its freeride reign. In comparison, the Shift Pro 130 provides a stiffer flex profile (130 compared to the S/Lab's 120), two added buckles (now with a traditional alpine-style, four buckle setup), a more substantial cuff strap, and replaceable rubber soles (nice touch to improve boot durability). These added features place the Shift Pro 130 150g heavier than the S/Lab MTN - not too bad for a significant increase in downhill performance and overall durability. The Shift Pro 130 shell is modeled after its high-performance on-piste brother (S?/Pro 130). An added internal walk mechanism (the same technology as the S/Lab MTN's walk mech) provides a very similar range of motion to the S/Lab MTN. Some might logically deduce the Shift Pro 130 to be a Freeride Frankenstein of the S/Pro and the S/Lab. This boot is just as comfortable spinning laps on the resort as it is breaking trail in the backcountry. If you like uncompromised downhill skiing performance in exchange for a little bit of added [training] weight, slide your feet into the Shift Pro 130 and hold on tight.
